7. Camus uses the sun to represent a burden because to the characters, the heat is a burden and it bears down on them.
ReplyDelete8. Camus is very focused on Mersault not only because he is the main character, but also because he is making the narrator active in someones life.
9. Camus is trying to cover a lot of ground by making paragraphs go through time, he does not want to keep going on and boring the reader.
4. Figures of Speech- Camus is trying to say that being emotional and sensitive to everything really gets you one to the same place as if they were completely indifferent to the outcome, as shown by Mersault's lack of care over having a lawyer.
ReplyDelete5. Narrators- Camus doesn't physically describe other characters because he wants the reader to focus on their emotional responses to situations, and their emotions in general. This in turn emphasizes Mersault's lack of emotion.
